The Partners Trust Powwow: What’s Happening in Los Angeles Homes and Home Sales
by Dane Findley on June 17, 2010At least once a week, our entire team of talented real estate professionals gets together to share ideas and psych-up for “Broker Caravan.” Broker caravan is when all of Los Angeles’ available homes are shown on the market in a special weekday open house event, specifically for Realtors.
We have our big weekly meetup an hour before we leave to go “into the field” and visit some of LA’s most beautiful homes, and we call it a “powwow” (please don’t call it a sales meeting).
Here is your sneak peak — a behind-the-scenes look at what occurs at Partners Trust when we get together.
This is just one example — in this case, of me exploring ways that our team can reach out to their communities and provide value to their neighbors via digital media.
I am just one presenter among many; and, in fact, we have many outstanding facilitators at PT.
For example, to check out one of Nick Segal‘s charismatic powwows, click here.
In this video below, I discuss “neopolitan ice cream,” and the new trend in transparency in business:
And in this short video below, I share how the dynamic process of social media education works (we always have an interactive class series happening, for students at various levels of expertise):
In this video, I share insights into digital marketing, and when viewers decide that you can be helpful to them — what I call the “moment of truth!” That “moment” often is the cumulative effect of several value-added encounters:
Here I discuss what a brokerage is trying to convey to its neighbors via the ads it chooses to run (in marketing circles, we call that “honing a brand). In this video, I talk about print advertising in particular:
In this video, I share business strategies for using Facebook strategically and effectively in order to make a positive difference to your “sphere of influence.” I’m a big believer in community reporting, and providing value to our neighbors by giving them an inside view of what’s going on in their communities that they may not yet know about. I believe that in order to be truly helpful to our viewers, we have to give them good information consistently:
If you’re in the mood to share with me what’s on your mind, I’m eager to hear it! Please use the comments section below.

I’m having you do the meetings from now on.
Great content and wonderful information. I don’t know of another company that lays out so much in what most outside our walls consider just another, “hum drum” sales meeting. Pow Wow to us!
Nice, great stuff and the meeting was great Dane.
Thanks for the wonderful presentation, Dane. You definitely have a gift for distilling information down and presenting it in an exciting and easy-to-understand fashion.
By the way, we have other groups as well:
advanced negotiation strategies, contracts classes, social media tutorials, prosperity circles — you name it.
We have a pretty dynamic, high-energy environment, and we like to keep things zesty!
In the post, I mention “talented team of pros.” If you want to see a list of who attends these powwows, click here.
[...] Right now I am writing this (it’s between sometime between 8 and 9 in the morning) during my allotted blog time, which is important to me and my company as we have all committed to social media and “getting it out there.” [...]
